Support from NYRTH

Most connection issues come down to the Mac server, the local network, or an outdated PIN.

Before connecting

  • start Streeeeamer on the Mac and choose a media folder;
  • confirm the local server is running;
  • connect the Mac and iPhone to the same local network; and
  • keep the server address and current PIN ready.

Can’t connect

Confirm that iOS has Local Network permission for Streeeeamer in Settings. Re-enter the full server address and current PIN shown on the Mac, and temporarily disable any VPN or guest-network isolation that prevents devices from seeing one another.

If the Mac’s local address changed after reconnecting to Wi-Fi, use the new address shown by the Mac app.

Playback trouble

Try a second media file to determine whether the issue is format-specific. Keep the Mac awake, confirm the server is still running, and check that both devices have a stable Wi-Fi connection.

Some formats are converted by the Mac before playback and may take longer to begin.

What to include

  • the iOS, iPhone model, and app version;
  • the Mac app and macOS versions;
  • what you expected and what happened instead;
  • steps that reproduce the issue; and
  • relevant screenshots with PINs, addresses, file names, and personal details removed.
